I just feel like it was the right thing to do… show up even though it’s hard.”According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Dakota filed for a protective order in Utah on Tuesday. In his filing, Dakota said he was at Taylor’s home with their son Ever when an argument escalated, claiming she choked him and that he had to physically remove her hands from his neck while she shoved him into a window and struck him.In light of the 2023 video being published, ABC cancelled season 22 of ‘The Bachelorette’ ahead of its March 22 premiere. Paul’s representative addressed the situation in a statement to E! News: “After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.” The spokesperson added: “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives.” Mortensen, who denied Paul’s allegations as “baseless”, has since been granted temporary custody of their 2-year-old son until a hearing on April 7.
