Shweta Tripathi, best known for her breakout role in ‘Mirzapur’, has barely taken a breather after completing ‘Mirzapur: The Film’. The actor recently wrapped the Mumbai schedule of the movie and moved straight into her next project. The movie went on floors on December 23 and will be shot in a tight start-to-finish schedule, wrapping by mid-January.
On wrapping up ‘Mirzapur’ and moving on
In an interview with Mid-Day, Shweta spoke about the transition from one project to another without pause. She said, “I wrapped up the shoot of Mirzapur: The Film, and almost immediately found myself stepping into a completely new world and a new story. While most people are celebrating the holidays, I am celebrating this phase of my life by doing what I love the most, being on set.”
She is also grateful for the responsibility the film gives her. “I get to dominate the narrative and explore shades that are both raw and powerful.”
A new role and a demanding genre
The upcoming project places Shweta at the centre of the narrative. The movie allows her to explore deeper, darker layers. She shared, “It’s an intense drama, and the genre demands a certain intensity and discipline, which excites me as an actor.”Shooting across Bhopal and other parts of Madhya Pradesh has also added texture to the film. “Shooting in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh adds a beautiful authenticity to the story, and the locations almost become characters in themselves,” she said.
Working through the holidays with gratitude
She later added that skipping a New Year break does not bother her. Instead, she sees it as a gift. “Working through the holidays doesn’t feel like a sacrifice at all – it feels like a privilege.”
On the work front
Shweta Tripathi was seen in projects like ‘Kaalkoot’, ‘Kanjoos Makhichoos’, and ‘Yeh Kaali Ankhein Season 2’.
