Since its theatrical release on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, steadily built strong momentum at the box office and emerged as one of the most talked-about films in recent months. The anticipation for its sequel remained high among audiences, leading to the release of Dhurandhar The Revenge on March 19, 2026.

While several members of the Indian film industry have publicly praised the dulogy’s success, some voices have also criticised the film’s narrative and portrayal, with a few describing it as propagandist in tone. Among those reacting to the sequel’s release was actor Prakash Raj, who shared a cryptic post on social media on the day the Ranveer Singh-starrer arrived in cinemas.
Prakash Raj posted a video clip featuring the iconic song ‘Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar’ from Hum Dono, picturised on Dev Anand and Sadhana, along with a caption that read, “Me .. Bahut Door from #Dhurandhar ….are you #justasking.”

A few hours later, he responded to a social media user who had pointed out that actors including Allu Arjun, Vijay Deverakonda, Jr NTR, and Mahesh Babu had praised Dhurandhar 2, while asking whether any Hindi film actors had reacted similarly. Replying to the post, Prakash Raj wrote, “Signs of Obligations are spreading South too .. #justasking.”
His comment drew responses from users online, with one person writing in his replies that he should refuse to work with actors who had praised the film.

Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, both parts of Dhurandhar have remained a consistent talking point over the past three months. The films present a fictional narrative inspired by real-world events and feature an ensemble cast including Sara Arjun, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and Rakesh Bedi alongside Ranveer Singh.
