The first glimpse of the eagerly awaited thriller dropped on Tuesday during Netflix’s ‘Next on Netflix India’ showcase, unveiling highlights from the platform’s 2026 slate. It signals yet another milestone in Saif’s streaming saga, building on his standout turns in ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Tandav’, and ‘Vikram Vedha’. Red Chillies Entertainment backs the project, with Pulkit as a director.

Saif expressed his excitement for the upcoming film in a press release, stating, “Kartavya, which is really great, produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment, is going to come out soon. It’s a lovely piece by director Pulkit, and I’m really happy that it’s coming out on Netflix.” This marks director Pulkit’s follow-up collaboration with Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment after his 2024 hit ‘Bhakshak’, which featured Bhumi Pednekar in the lead.

The film, set in India’s heartland, delves into the intricate intersections of law, family, truth, and duty as per the press release. Alongside Saif Ali Khan, it features Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Saurabh Dwivedi, Zakir Hussain, and Manish Chaudhari in pivotal roles. No release date has been confirmed yet.
