The passing of famed ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actor Eric Dane has left the entertainment world with a gaping hole. The star had been diagnosed with ALS almost 10 months ago, and had been open and candid about his deteriorating health online. Although fans, netizens, and fellow celebrities have been sharing tributes online, Dane will successfully appear on screen one last time. As per recent reports, it was confirmed that the actor had successfully filmed for the third season of ‘Euphoria.’

TMZ confirmed the news, citing that Dane had already finished filming for his role in the upcoming season of ‘Euphoria.’ Filming for the series was finalized in late 2025 and has been in post-production ever since. A statement from the report shared that the actor returned to the sets of ‘Euphoria’ in the same month he was diagnosed with ALS in April last year.

In the hit OTT show, the actor played Cal Jacobs, father of Jacob Elordi’s character, Nate Jacobs. His character was shown as a troubled man who had a hard time dealing with his sexuality. His character was one of the most controversial parts of the story and was heavily intertwined with Rue’s storyline in the series, as the two had slept together.

In April 2025, Dane shared the news that he had been diagnosed with fatal ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. Although the life expectancy for people with the disease is low, he shared that he would fight through everything. On February 19, 2026, the actor passed away in his home surrounded by his family members. His family shared the news online on his account. Recently, a special interview of the actor, which the star created long before his passing, was also released on Netflix. It was shared that Dane wished for the interview to be aired after he passed away, as a one last attempt to connect with the world. Fans will be able to watch Eric Dane take the screen one last time as ‘Euphoria’ season 3 officially drops on Hulu on April 12.
