According to Siasat.com, Sai Pallavi might come on board for the project directed by Nag Ashwin. Reportedly, she is being considered for the role of Sum 80 in the film. However, no confirmation has been made by the makers as well as the actress as of now.

As per the reports, the actress already shot some portions for part two of the movie. The makers of the Prabhas starrer took to their social media account to announce Deepika’s exit. They shared that a film like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ “deserves commitment.”The post read, “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”Reports suggested that Deepika demanded a 25 percent hike in her fees and a short work hour shift. The makers tried to negotiate the same with her, but things didn’t turn as planned.

In an interview with CNBC TV18, Deepika Padukone said, “I have done this at many levels; this is not new to me. I think, even as far as pay is concerned, I have had to deal with whatever comes with it. I don’t even know what to call it, but I am someone who has always fought my battles silently. And for some strange reason, sometimes they become public.”
