Hollywood star, Alan Ritchson has been cleared of criminal charges after video of his physical altercation with his neighbour went viral online. The actor was in the headlines over the weekend when video footage captured him getting into a physical altercation with his neighbour, Ronnie Taylor in their Brentwood community. The two men were seen in a verbal spat before throwing punches over a dispute about the actor’s motorcycle.

Police drop criminal charges against Alan Ritchson

According to the latest reports on The Hollywood Reporter, Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin has now closed the case and dropped the criminal charges against the actor. “After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defence,” Pepin told The Hollywood Reporter.

Authorities also confirmed that Ritchson declined to press charges against Taylor. He added, “Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges. With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken.”

TMZ shared the video footage showing the two men in a heated argument. However, the release of Ritchson’s body camera footage indicated a different story, as it showed that the actor was not only driving at 20mph in the neighbourhood, but that it was Taylor who jumped on the road and blocked the actor’s path, while also initiating the dispute and shoving the actor.In the clip, he is also seen challenging Ritchson to fight him, while the actor was intent on driving away without any altercation.

Following the incident, Ritchson posted a cryptic message on social media, writing, “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”
