Nayanthara purchases luxury apartment with husband Vignesh
According to property registration documents accessed by Zapkey, Nayanthara and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, have reportedly purchased a luxury duplex apartment in the upscale Poes Garden locality for Rs 31.5 crore. The premium neighbourhood is one of the most sought-after residential areas in the city and is known for housing several prominent personalities.
The newly acquired apartment is part of the Legacy residential project located in Teynampet, a prime locality in Chennai. Poes Garden has long been associated with influential figures, including superstar Rajinikanth and the late former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. With this purchase, the couple could potentially become neighbours to some of the most well-known names linked to the area.
Documents related to the transaction reveal that the duplex apartment spans a super built-up area of 14,369 square feet, as reported by TOI. The property also includes an undivided share of land measuring 5,308 square feet. Based on the overall transaction value, the price works out to approximately Rs 21,946 per square foot. The sale deed for the property was reportedly registered on December 15, 2025.
Ownership details show that the property is jointly held by the couple. Nayanthara allegedly holds the majority share of 90 percent, while Vignesh Shivan, whose official name in the records appears as Vigneshwar Sivakolundu, owns the remaining 10 percent. The luxury residence also comes with eight covered parking spaces in the stilt area of the building.
This is not the only real estate investment associated with the actor. Reports suggest that Nayanthara owns several properties across different cities, including homes in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kerala. Among them is her ancestral house in Kerala, which is said to be one of the most lavish properties in the region. She is also believed to own two houses in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
Moreover, Poes Garden has recently been in the news for several high-profile property deals. In 2024, actor Dhanush made headlines after reportedly purchasing a lavish bungalow in the same neighbourhood for an estimated Rs 150 crore.
Nayanthara’s upcoming projects
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Nayanthara continues to stay busy with multiple projects across languages. Apart from Toxic, she is expected to appear in the Malayalam film Dear Students opposite Nivin Pauly, and Patriot, which reportedly features Mammootty and Mohanlal.
In Tamil cinema, she will also be seen in the upcoming film Hi alongside Kavin. With several projects lined up and a new luxury home in one of Chennai’s most elite areas, the actor continues to remain both professionally and personally in the spotlight.
