Smriti Mandhana’s mother, Smita, recently re-posted a meme on Instagram, and it created a lot of noise online. The meme made fun of Smriti’s ex-fiance, Palash Muchhal. Even though she deleted the post later people had already seen it and shared it again and again. Because of this, it quickly went viral. Many people felt surprised that Smriti’s mother shared something like that, especially right after Smriti’s WPL win.
Past breakup comes back in talk
Smriti and Palash’s breakup last year had already shocked a lot of people. They were supposed to get married in Sangli, Maharashtra. Everything was ready but suddenly all the pre-wedding functions stopped. Then the wedding got cancelled. Soon, rumours started online saying Palash had cheated on Smriti. Nothing was confirmed, but people kept talking about it. When Smriti’s mother re-posted the meme now, many fans remembered the old breakup story again.
Details about the viral meme
After RCB won the WPL 2026, a meme featuring Palash went viral. In the meme, he was edited into a Delhi Capitals jersey. The text on the meme said, “So this is how Smriti saw DC’s players during yesterday’s match?” Under it, a netizen had written, “Comeback hogaya didi ka.” People found it funny because Smriti played against Delhi Capitals in the finals. Somehow, this meme caught the attention of Smriti’s mother, and she re-posted it. But after some time, she removed it. Still, the screenshot of her post is doing the rounds everywhere.
How their wedding got cancelled
Smriti and Palash had dated for many years. They had planned to get married on November 23 in Sangli. But on that same day, they said the wedding was postponed because Smriti’s father and Palash both had to be taken to the hospital. Soon after that, rumours came online that Palash was caught with another woman. The couple first stayed quiet. Later, they confirmed that the wedding was called off.Smriti shared a statement saying, “I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace.” After this, both families stopped talking about the breakup.
Smriti shines in the WPL final
While all this online chatter went on, Smriti’s performance in the WPL final became the main highlight for fans. Many people had earlier said she sometimes struggled in big finals. But she shut down every doubt this time. Even though she had the flu, she played a stunning innings of 87 off 41 balls. She led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their second WPL title while chasing 204 against Delhi Capitals in Vadodara.
