The second season of ‘The Night Manager’ ended on February 1 after six episodes, bringing Tom Hiddleston back to the role of Jonathan Pine nearly a decade after the show’s debut. The Amazon Prime Video thriller ended season two on a grim, emotional finish, with Pine hit by painful losses and left staring at an unclear path forward. With questions piling up about his fate and the larger mission, fans are now looking ahead and asking the same thing. Will there be a third season, and when will it arrive?
‘The Night Manager’ season 3 renewal status
The series has already been renewed for a third season. Hiddleston, who also serves as an executive producer, recently confirmed that the next chapter is in official development. He explained that seasons two and three were planned together as a single story told in two parts. Season one premiered in 2016, and the second season returned on January 11 on Amazon Prime Video, concluding on February 1.The show is also produced by the BBC. According to details previously shared with the press, the creative team approached the revival as a trilogy. The first season adapted John le Carré’s 1993 novel, while seasons two and three are entirely original. Creator and writer David Farr and director Georgi Banks-Davies mapped out the long arc before cameras rolled on the second season.
‘The Night Manager’ season 3 cast and release window
Hiddleston is confirmed to return as Jonathan Pine. Several characters met violent ends in the season two finale, which makes some returns unlikely. The deaths of Olivia Colman’s and Diego Calva’s characters appear final, though flashbacks remain possible. Hugh Laurie, who plays Richard Roper, and Noah Jupe, who plays Danny Roper, could still be included in the story, though no official announcements have been made.Hiddleston told This Morning that season two was the beginning of a 12-episode story, signaling that the third season will complete the narrative. Filming has not yet begun. A 2026 release appears unlikely, but if production starts by mid-2026, a late 2027 premiere is possible.Seasons one and two of ‘The Night Manager’ are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, with UK viewers also able to watch via BBC iPlayer.
